I'm Jonathan, Founder of BEEPUBLIC.
If you're like me, you probably roll out of bed in the morning and the first thing that you do is grab a cup of coffee and some food. But what you may not have known is that pollination is a key link between bees and both your morning brew and some of your favorable eats. To be more clear, bees are responsible for about 1/4 of coffee production and 1/3 of all food.
But there's a problem - our world is changing. Bee populations are declining at a rapid, unprecedented rate - to beekeepers around the world, this phenomenon is known as Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). To make matters worse, it’s estimated that around 60 billion paper coffee cups and 108 billion pounds of food are dumped into landfills every year. And lastly, coffee farmers are in desperate need of an improved quality of life and transparent supply chain partners to ensure that monetary benefits are distributed equitably - encouraging sustainable agricultural practices and addressing social issues.
So, I set out to find a way to influence how the world consumes all those cups and bites. That means serving responsibly-sourced food and drinks, while creating a positive environmental and social impact along the way. And, I did.
Now here we are - BEEPUBLIC - your new soon-to-be favorite local Brooklyn-based coffee & eats shop for responsible living.

Bees are one of the world’s most important pollinators for food crops. In fact, one out of every three bites we consume relies on pollination. Simply put, without bees our entire ecosystem would struggle to survive.
